EU legislators and public authorities are changing the basic requirements for imports and exports, customs procedures and global foreign trade transactions on a regular basis. Globally acting companies are more and more subject to national and international trade rules by managing the daily transfer of products, services and technologies.
Global companies whose product ranges include goods with a dual use purpose or armaments are particularly affected. Nowadays companies success is closely linked with the fulfillment of compliance requirements. Moreover that transnational trade compliance is prerequisite to ensure the access to global markets today and in the future.
To meet those requirements, globally acting companies must make certain structural adjustments. The aim is to manage global business operations in such a way as to ensure compliance in multiple jurisdictions. Many companies simply lack the necessary expert knowledge to recognise and set out precisely what they need to change and what must be done in view of the new legal situation and procedures.
