Study: Collaborations in the Food Industry - Two out of three Companies of the Food Industry are on the Search for Supply Chain Collaborations
Frankfurt on the Main, August 2010. Almost two out of three companies of the food industry are on the search for supply chain collaborations or plan collaborations in future. This is one result of the study “collaborations in the food industry” conducted by the supply chain consultancy Miebach Consulting. Another result shows that many companies have problems with implementing such collaborations.
“Collaborations are a quite effective method in the fight against the growing pressure of the trade. However, we could also experience that a missing partner, complicated voting procedures and differing interests lead to major problems and in consequence to failing collaboration attempts”, said Dr. Klaus-Peter Jung, partner and director at Miebach Consulting. Besides cartels and contract matters companies fear possible dependencies on the collaboration partner and therefore consider collaborations – despite the benefits – with caution. Jung sees the reason for this caution in a lack of knowledge about establishing and handling supply chain collaborations, that is why the study also includes recommendations for actions and discusses partnership models.Keine Kommunikationsobjekte vorhanden.
